Pain Management

Chronic pain is frequently associated with many problems such as arthritis, muscle pain, nerve pain, cancer, and fibromyalgia. Patients dealing with chronic pain usually have difficulty engaging in everyday activities. Managing chronic pain is often a struggle. Many pain medications that are commercially available have numerous side effects with which they are associated. Some patients are unable to take oral pain medications maybe because of the adverse effects on the GI tract or maybe because they are unable to swallow a pill. Compounded transdermal medication provides pain relief by absorption through the skin, which allows the medication to bypass the GI tract and have less GI side effects. Also, pain is unique to every individual, which is why we compound custom medications to alleviate pain. Compounding allows us to customize a pain medication in the strength and dosage form that will provide the patient with optimal pain relief and fewer adverse effects.
